AWB Charlesworth LLP is pleased to announce that it has adopted Sue Ryder – Manorlands Hospice as its charity of the year for 2012.
Manorlands Hospice at Oxenhope is a place that has touched many local people’s lives and our recognition of it as our charity of the year is a continuation of the firm’s support for this wonderful facility.
The Hospice has 16 beds and cares for the physical, psychological and spiritual needs of patients and their families. The money raised through the partnership will assist patients to uphold their independence for as long as possible. Through its work, the Hospice helps put back what conditions like cancer can take away from people: reassurance, self esteem, freedom and comfort. Each year the Hospice needs to raise £1.2 million in voluntary donations to continue providing this care.
Rachel Cunningham, Corporate Fundraiser at Manorlands Hospice commented:
“We are delighted to be named as AWB Charlesworth LLP Charity of the Year for 2012. The firm already provide a great deal of support to the Hospices services through their involvement in the Manorlands Challenge Committee and we are excited to have the opportunity to work together and develop further support throughout the year.”

Utopia at Broughton Hall was the fitting venue for our champagne reception to celebrate our three-way merger as we look to the future.
The event provided an opportunity for clients and associates of our three former firms to meet the enlarged team set to become a dynamic new practice in the area for commercial and private client law services.
The Chris White Jazz Trio provided entertainment at the evening event as more than a hundred guests enjoyed champagne and canapés, along with Timothy Taylors as a good Yorkshire alternative.
Senior partners Martin Wood, Alan Davidson and Umberto Vietri addressed our guests, thanking existing clients and looking forward to forging new relationships with our increased expertise.
