AWB Charlesworth Solicitors and Pearson and Associates Accountants, have held their annual charity golf day and managed to raise over £2000 as part of their ongoing support for their chosen Charity Partner Martin House Hospice.
Now in its 5th year, the day was held at The Bradford Golf Club, where nineteen teams of local business men and women competed. In addition to the 18-hole game, attempts were made to ‘beat the pro’ and a competition for the straightest shot and nearest the line.
The day would not have been a success without the generosity and contributions of the local teams of players, the businesses who sponsored and donated prizes and the wonderful hospitality shown by The Bradford Golf Club. Teams supporting the 2018 Golf Day were Avarco, Barclays Bank, Bowman Riley, Broughton Labs, Bulloughs, Dinsdale, Gareth Clark, Hogg Financial Planning, Jelf Insurance, LSI, Andrew Burton, Skipton Business Network, Skipton Hire Centre, Smifs, Trio Healthcare, WBW Surveyors, Whurwoods Solicitors
Raffle prizes were generously donated by The Coniston Hotel & Spa, Midland Hotel Bradford, Pennine Cycles, Skipton Ford, The Bradford Golf Club, Naylors Brewery, Write Wine Company, and Keelham Farm. Other sponsorship was provided by Bizzie Lizzies, Alexanders, Kings Head, Dragons Den, Adams Tebb, Verner Wheelock, Gareth Clarke Landscaping, LSI, Ashberry Recruitment,
Paul Mason, from Pearson and Associates commented: “Raising money for Martin House Children’s Hospice is always a very special thing to do. We do it in a way where we all have fun, have a laugh and get together with people we may only see occasionally.
It’s a great reminder that we are very fortunate to be able to do this and putting our hands deep into our pockets is an easy thing to do knowing the money is going to such an unbelievable charity.
Thanks as ever to all those who support us year on year and to the new teams from this year. We look forward to seeing you next year. We will continue to strive to make it a bigger and better event for the charity”
James Dunn, from AWB Charlesworth Solicitors said: “We are delighted to have hosted the 5th annual event. We are thankful to all that generously supported the day, from players, sponsors and businesses who donated raffle prizes, the support was overwhelming and we are pleased to have raised such a fantastic amount for Martin House. We had a lovely day of golf, on a great course whilst raising much needed funding and awareness for the charity. We are looking forward to next year’s event which will hopefully be bigger and better”
