Family Law Services and Covid-19

Liz Hebden, Head of AWB Charlesworth’s Family Law Team discusses how the team has adapted to support Clients whilst the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues.
The level of disruption to the UK is unprecedented, there having been a knock-on effect on every aspect of society.  Separating couples are experiencing a particularly challenging time, especially those who continue to live under the same roof, with some in lockdown.

Here at AWB Charlesworth, most staff are working remotely from their homes.  It is no longer possible to offer face-to-face meetings in the office.  However, we wish to provide you with the reassurance that we are available and well-equipped to deal with your case in any circumstances.  We are able to continue to provide advisory services without interruption or disruption.

For existing Clients, you will still be able to speak to us in the usual way.  There are no changes to our telephone contact numbers or e-mail addresses.  Changes have been announced in relation to future Court Hearings, many of which will be dealt with remotely.  We will keep Clients informed on a case-by-case basis as to how this may affect them.

For anyone encountering matrimonial difficulties, we are able to continue to offer a first meeting for a fixed fee of £100.00.  In the current climate, this will be by telephone rather than face-to-face but within that meeting we shall:-
• Ask you to explain the issues
• Establish what you wish to achieve
• Explain your options and the likely procedure
• Give an estimate of your likely costs
• Agree with you as to how you wish to proceed

If you have any concerns about your own circumstances, please get in touch with a member of our team. Amanda De Winter can be contacted on 01756 692871 or emailed at amanda.dewinter@awbclaw.co.uk
