Liz has over 25 years’ experience dealing with divorce and family matters. She is described by her clients as supportive and compassionate and always considers alternatives to expensive and protracted court action.
Qualifications and memberships
LLB (Hons) Law Degree and Law Society Finals – Trent Polytechnic (now Nottingham Trent University).
Member of Resolution, an organisation of over 5,000 family lawyers committed to conducting matters in a conciliatory and non-confrontational way.
Qualified as a Solicitor in October 1988 and spent 20+ years as partner at a firm in Preston. Re-located to Skipton in 2012 where I have built up a client base before joining AWBC in January 2016.
What attracted you to a career in law?
“My interest in the law was ignited after working on reception at a busy law firm during my school holidays.”

“Not only is it necessary to be a competent lawyer, family work often requires empathy and compassion, which I feel able to provide to Clients.”
What would be your ‘alternative’ profession If you were not a lawyer?
“I am a frustrated primary school teacher!”

What are the most rewarding aspects of your work?
“Helping to navigate clients through issues arising from their relationship breakdown and seeing them emerge at the end of the matter emotionally stronger than when we first met and ready to move on with their lives.”
