On a crisp, cloudless sky on the cusp of December, 2,500 runners and walkers, sprinters and strollers took part in the 2025 Skipton Santa Fun Run.

It was the 16th such event, and each year it gets bigger and better. Held on the 30th November and preceded by some appalling weather, the event was an astonishing success. It showcases the beauty of Skipton, the generosity of local people, and the slight bonkersness of 2,500 people dressed as Santa, pounding the streets of our little market town. In total, £80,000 is thought to have been raised from participants and commercial sponsors.

And AWB Charlesworth were one such sponsor – and a gold sponsor at that!

Huge congratulations to Skipton Rotary and Craven Rotary. Your efforts in establishing this annual event, and the work that you put into it to ensure it’s a safe, welcoming and fun event is no mean feat. Seeing smiling faces across the town, from participants, and their families and friends, was a real joy. Not really a surprise that Rightmove named Skipton as the happiest place to live in Great Britain!

We loved being involved in Skipton Santa Fun Run, and looking forward to doing so again, next year.
