Fiona knew from an early age that law was a career path that she wanted to pursue- upon leaving Bingley Grammar School she worked as a secretary in a Law firm where she began to study the ILEX examinations.
Education /route taken to becoming a lawyer
Upon leaving Bingley Grammar School I worked as a secretary in a Law firm where I began to study the ILEX examinations at Park Lane College, Leeds.
What are the highlights of your work?
Endeavouring to make what can be a stressful process run smoothly and as trouble free as possible for my clients.
Area of work/specialisms
I specialise in all aspects of residential conveyancing dealing with both freehold and leasehold house sales and purchases, shared ownership transactions, lease extensions, re-mortgages and transfers of equity.
What interests you about your specific area of law?
Specialising in conveyancing, I particularly enjoy the fact that every transaction differs in some way from another.
What would be your ‘alternative’ profession if you were not a lawyer?
I couldn’t really say, as working in law is all I have ever done, but I am a huge animal lover so if I were to have chosen a different career path it would have involved working with animals/animal welfare.
Outside of work,I enjoy travelling, reading and cooking, and am a member of Birman Cat Club.
